About the Dzugan Method
  How do I know if I am a candidate for the Dzugan Method?
  The Dzugan Method is effective for almost everyone, unless you experienced certain surgical procedures or traumatic events. After review of your personal health history, we will determine if you are a candidate, and if not, we will refund your money and try to recommend the best treatment for you.
  If the Dzugan Method is good for the entire body, will I see additional benefits?
  Yes – and we expect that you will achieve several benefits from the Dzugan Method. Our Clients have demonstrated measurable improvements in a wide range of medical issues beyond their initial chief complaints.   What side effects result from the Dzugan Method?
  Our clients typically do not experience negative side effects. This is because the Dzugan Method is designed to supplement the production of hormones, vitamins and minerals with the exact substance that is already present in your body. Side effects, as we know them, typically occur from the presence of a foreign substance, i.e. non-bioidentical synthetic drugs, pharmaceuticals, non-bioidentical hormones, etc., that your body rejects and results in a “side effect”.
  How long does it take to start feeling the results of my Program?
  Most of our Clients experience the effects of their Programs within a few days. However, if you are on several medications and/or have a complicated medical history, it could take weeks to months until your Program is optimized. Results vary based upon compliance and it is very important to follow the recommendations of your Provider.
  Will my Program change over time?
  Absolutely. Optimizations are made to your Program are based on medical history, laboratory results and your body’s response to your Program.
  How long will I have to keep taking the different hormones and supplements on my program?
  It depends. Many of our Clients will and are very happy to be on their Programs for the rest of their lives. This is typically because their bodies are unable to create certain hormones, vitamins or minerals and require supplementation to maintain healthy levels. However, our clinical experience has shown that our bodies adapt to the Programs and may start creating certain hormones, vitamins and/or minerals that allow for the removal or dose reduction of such items in their Programs. Each case is different and the Dzugan Method was designed to work with you and your Provider to ensure that you are on your optimal Program.
  Does the Dzugan Method take me off of my current medications?
  Our best results occur when the Dzugan Method is started with a "clean slate", i.e. only take those items on your Program. However, many of our Clients are on several medications and are concerned about the results of stopping their current regimen. It is important to understand that every case is different and we work with you and your Provider to determine the best and safest course of action. If there is every any question, our medical advisors and your Provider should be able to answer any questions you may have about your individual circumstance.
  Do any of the items typically recommended in the Dzugan Method require a prescription?
  Yes, however depending on the Program, only 4 items at most will require a prescription, whereas the rest can be purchased directly from Dzugan. The items that require prescriptions are estrogen, progesterone, testosterone and thyroid.
  Do I need a physician for the Dzugan Method?
  Yes. At Dzugan, we do not diagnose, treat or prescribe – we work with your Provider to both create and optimize your Program.
  Do you recommend a specific diet or eating plan as part of your Dzugan Method?
  Although we firmly believe that a natural, toxin-free and balanced diet is the healthiest approach for everyone, we do not emphasize a specific eating plan as part of the Dzugan Method. The goal of the Dzugan Method is to allow people to return to a NORMAL, healthy life. Once they are free of illness and its symptoms related to imbalance, our Clients find they are free to enjoy chocolate, alcoholic beverages, and other food items that used to trigger their illnesses and symptoms. However, the Dzugan Method diet recommends many whole, organic fruits, vegetables, grains, nuts, and beans in their diet as possible, along with organic meats and dairy products and safe fish choices. We also strongly recommend that our Clients always eat breakfast, make lunch the largest meal of the day, and always leave at least four hours between dinner and bedtime.
Restorative Medicine
  Is Hormone Restoration safe?
  Significant clinical studies and research have shown that Hormone Restoration is safe – however it is crucial that you are under the care of an experienced healthcare professional proficient and experienced in restorative medicine. The appeal of natural, bio-identical hormone restoration is that you are supplementing your body with the exact substances that it has, but is unable to produce healthy levels. However, the key is that you are on a Program that ensures that you are taking the correct items with the correct dosage at the proper time.
  What are bioidentical hormones?
  Bioidentical hormones are manufactured in the lab to have the exact same structure as hormones made by our own body.
  What is the difference between bio-identical and synthetic hormones?
  Technically, there is no difference because bio-identical hormones are “synthesized” in the laboratory. The key to the differentiation is to ensure that you are taking hormones that are EXACTLY identical to what is produced in your body. “Synthetic” hormones, as you know them, were invented because Drug companies can’t patent a bio-identical or natural chemical compound. Therefore, their “synthetic” hormones are almost the same as the natural chemical found in your body – allowing them to patent and market the drug. Notable examples are Premarin, Prempro and Provera.
  I know that my body isn't exactly like everyone else. How can one course of treatment fit everybody?
  It doesn't – and this is a fundamental principal of the Dzugan Method. The Dzugan Method results in a customized Program specifically tailored to you. No two Programs are alike and your Program will evolve over time as your body responds to each optimization.
Enrollment
  Is the Dzugan Method covered by insurance?
  The initial Program Creation and Ongoing Service is not covered by most insurance companies, however the laboratory testing typically is covered. Some of our Clients have been able to receive partial coverage or used their Flex or Health Spending Accounts, but you will need to contact your insurance company to determine what, if any, coverage would be possible.
  Who should I have supervise my Dzugan Method?
  It is preferable to work with a current Dzugan Provider; however we can work with your current physician. At Dzugan, we do not diagnose, treat or prescribe – we work with your healthcare professional to both create and optimize your Program over time.
  How can I use my current physician to supervise my Dzugan Method?
  The first step is to receive agreement from your physician that he/she will supervise your Program. Then, please send us his/her contact information and notify them that our Dzugan Advisors will be contacting their office to review how we work with new Provider and our Clients.
  What if my current physician will not supervise my Dzugan Method?
  Our Dzugan Consultants will recommend one of the many Dzugan Providers that have supervised the Dzugan Method for our Clients across the United States and worldwide.
  Will I need to travel to start my Dzugan Method?
  Depending on your current health conditions, it may be in your best interest to travel and meet in person with a Dzugan Provider. If you are experiencing migraine, fibromyalgia, or other chronic conditions, the time between your Medical Update and Program Optimization is very important. Dzugan Providers are trained and certified in the process of telemedicine; however they can only deliver your Program Optimization if you have met with them in person and established the doctor-patient relationship. If your physician is not a Dzugan Provider, Program Optimizations could take as long as 48-72 hours and this level of service may not be acceptable. Your Dzugan Consultant will review all of your options prior to Enrollment.
  How does the Dzugan Method work with my Supervising Physician?
  Your Physician will receive your initial Program and all Optimizations via fax or email after the receipt of any and all information required. If you are not working with a Dzugan Provider, then it is very helpful to establish a relationship with your physician’s office manager, nurse or technician and have them rapidly send you the Program Optimizations made by your Physician.
  Do I need a physician to supervise my program if I live overseas?
  Dzugan Method must be supervised by a qualified healthcare professional.
Ordering Supplements & Hormones
  How do I order my Program Items?
  You will typically be able to order every non-prescription item directly from your Dzugan Profile at www.dzugan.com and they will be delivered directly to your doorstep. If you live outside the United States, please confirm that you are able to receive international medication shipments prior to Enrollment.
  How do I receive my bio-identical hormones that require a prescription?
  Once you have received your prescription from your Physician, you will need to fax it to a compounding pharmacy and they will typically ship your bio-identical hormones to your address of choice. If you do not currently work with a pharmacy, we will recommend one for you and if you live outside the United States, please confirm that you are able to receive international medication shipments prior to Enrollment.
  Will my insurance cover compounded prescriptions?
  Much depends on the type of coverage you have with your insurance company. Because compounded medications do not have the National Drug Code ID numbers that manufactured drugs are required to have, some insurance companies will not reimburse compounding pharmacies directly. That means you will have to pay for the prescription in full when you pick it up. However, if you submit a claim form for your compounded medications, your insurance plan should cover the final cost and reimburse you. We recommend asking your insurance company.
  The Dzugan Method makes very specific recommendations for each of the hormones and supplements in the Programs. Is it necessary for me to use Dzugan brands, or can I make appropriate substitutions?
  The hormones and supplements that the Dzugan Method recommends have undergone years of testing and evaluation and are selected because they typically provide the best results. However, if you are not going to use a Dzugan Method brand or Preferred Vendor, please ensure that you are taking bio-identical hormones that are produced by reputable, high-quality manufacturers and make sure that your Provider knows which are not Dzugan products.
  How much will all of the hormones and supplements cost me?
  Depending on your Program, the cost ranges between $60-250 per month. The initial purchase is typically higher, but the ongoing maintenance will quickly go down over time because certain supplement bottles may contain a several month supply so you will not be purchasing every item every month.
Taking My Program
  Where should I apply my hormone gels or creams?
  For best absorption, you should apply your gel on your forearms or on your genitals, more specifically on your scrotum (for men) or on your clitoris (for women).
  How should I apply the hormone gels or creams?
  Scrotum & Clitoris Application:
  1. Place the recommended amount of gel on your fingertip.
  2. Rub the gel on your scrotum or clitoris until it has been absorbed (usually less than one minute). If you feel that it has not absorbed completely, then next time, apply a portion of gel on your genitals and the remaining on your forearms as described below.
  3. You should wait approximately 5 minutes before putting any clothes over the application area.
Forearm Application:
  1. Using your right hand*, apply the recommended dosage on the inner side of your left forearm where there is the least amount of hair.
  2. Rub the insides of your forearms together until the gel has been absorbed by your skin (usually takes less than 1 minute).
Neck Application:
  1. Put the recommended dosage on your fingertip.
  2. Next apply the gel to the area on the front of your neck and rub until it has been absorbed by your skin (usually takes less than 1 minute).
  3. You should apply the gel to your forearm or genitals unless otherwise recommended.
* The forearm application instructions are written for someone who is right handed. If you are left handed, then substitute right hand for left hand and vice versa in the above instructions.
  Is there a difference in absorption or effectiveness depending on where I apply my hormone gels or creams?
  There is a small difference in absorption between the forearm and genital area – however this can vary from Client to Client. The neck, however, does absorb less than the forearm and genitals and is used in the rare cases when our Clients cannot apply the gels to their forearms or genitals for one reason or another. Therefore, we recommend that you apply the gels to either your forearm or genital area first and then adjust according to your response to the Program.
  How long does it take for the hormone gels to absorb?
  Depending on the amount applied, it takes between 1-5 minutes. It is not recommended to swim, shower or perform any other activity that could wash the gels off for between 45-60 minutes after application.
  Can I apply more than one gel at a time?
  Yes, you can apply all of your hormone gels simultaneously unless otherwise recommended. If the amount of gel is too much to apply to the genital area (usually more than 1 mL), then you should apply some to your genitals and the rest to your forearms.
  Is it ok to mix the gels, or should I apply each one individually?
  In our experience, it does not affect the effectiveness of your Program if you mix the gels or apply each one individually.
  Is it safe to have sex after I apply my gels?
  You should wait approximately 45 minutes after application before having sex, especially if the gels are applied to your genital area. In the event that you do have sex within 45 minutes of application, this should not affect your partner or your Program if it happens on rare occasion. However, if this happens several times, you should consult with your Physician.
  How should I take the pills, capsules, or tablets on my Program?
  Unless otherwise recommended, you should take them with a full glass of water or juice. You can take them all at the same time; however you should only take one pill at a time.
  How should I take the powders recommended on my Program?
  Unless otherwise recommended, you can mix your powders with water or favorite juice. Our Clients have reported the best results when using cranberry juice.
Autoship
  How does Autoship work?
  All you have to do is tell us what day of the month you want to receive your package, and how many months supply you prefer. After we have that information, we take it from there. Your package will be delivered to your address of choice on or around that date and you won’t have to worry about when you will be running out of any of your supplements.
  How do I pay for this?
  We will charge your credit card of choice 7-days prior to your shipment date. We have an agreement with Transfirst Online, a company that specializes in creditcard and online security. We do not store your private and confidential credit card information.
  What if there are any changes to my Program – can Autoship handle this?
  Every time you have a change to your Program, our Client Coordinators are notified and they will make the necessary changes to your Autoship Configuration. They will contact you with any changes that are made.
  How can this minimize the overall cost of my Program?
  Because many of the bottles last more than one month, if you properly space out your purchases, you can save on shipping costs plus our Client Coordinators are able to save you money for the average cost of your Program.
  What type of shipping will be used for my order?
  We are prepared to place your order at least 7 days before you need it. This allows you to save money on shipping as we will use ground service - which will typically take 4-5 business days for delivery.
